Dreams of schools’ students come true to play in Paris Saint-Germain training session sponsored by QNB

Doha, 22 December 2017 – QNB, the largest financial institution in the Middle East and Africa, has organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education a training session at Aspire Zone, which brought together Paris Saint-Germain star players with over 20 students from various Qatari public schools, and a number of children of Qatar Orphans Foundation(Dhreima).

This special event was organized as part of QNB’s activities as an official sponsor of Paris Saint-Germain, which dominates the top of Ligue 1 2017/2018 season and which has won to date a total of 34 trophies making it the most successful French club in history.

The event was also aimed at consolidating the growing popularity of the French club in Qatar, which visited Doha on December 21-23 as part of their annual Qatar Winter Tour and training camp.

The initiative comes within the framework of QNB’s social responsibility in serving the community in various fields by organizing and sponsoring various activities throughout the year in various fields, namely sport.

The dreams of over 20 talented children, who were chosen by the Ministry from various public schools in Qatar, came true as they learned soccer tricks from Paris Saint-Germain’s coach Unai Emery and the club’s star players Neymar JR, Edinson Cavani , Kylian Mbappé, Thiago Silva and Giovani Lo Celso.

In an event like no other the children thrived on the opportunity to showcase their skills to the Paris Saint-Germain legends.

Commenting on the event, Mr. Yousef Darwish, General Manager of QNB Group Communications, said: “On behalf of QNB, I would like to extend our deep thanks to Ministry of Education and Higher Education for its fruitful cooperation to organize this event where ever-popular Paris Saint-Germain team met their fans in Qatar. This is a great opportunity, which comes within our keenness to promote sport as a platform to develop skills and teach values required to help build the human capital required for making Qatar National Vision 2030 a reality.”

The team is pleased to be visiting Doha and to meet with talented students who have a special football passion and skills’’.

Following the training session, Paris Saint-Germain players took a group photo, as well as autographed and signed soccer ball and jerseys.
