Wherever we do business we work on building stronger and more inclusive communities. Our efforts are focused on the most disadvantaged through projects that deliver basic welfare, improve essential infrastructure and provide relief in emergencies. The Bank realized the importance of its role in supporting the social development process, realizing the correlation between the development of society and the success of major institutions. It is a long-term business imperative that embodies QNB business values. Therefore, we have participated in many development projects in the following fields.
Healthcare: QNB Supports the healthcare sector by supporting institutions that provide free medical services through donating the necessary medical equipment and financing the setting up of medical units in public and university hospitals, in addition to implementing medical convoys in villages and destitute areas in order to improve the quality of provided medical services, and to reduce the waiting lists. The bank supports also in providing medical services in the marginalized areas which suffer from lack of healthcare out of the bank’s belief in the importance of providing support to all the unprivileged people that suit their living circumstances. Moreover, the importance of participating in veterinary convoys to improve animal production was introduced being an important source of income for many rural families.
Education: QNB supports the educational sector by supporting educational institutions especially primary schools in Upper Egypt and Delta. The Bank developed many schools and provided school supplies to improve and deliver the high educational services, in addition to providing scholarships for the outstanding students in some universities and financing the construction of laboratories in technical institutes and universities, as well as sponsoring the scientific events related to educational and scientific research and providing several financial literacy sessions to spread the concept of financial inclusion.
Social support: QNB participates in raising the standard of living for the unprivileged people by supporting them to meet their needs without discrimination through many social development projects. These projects include all categories embracing youth, woman and people with special needs and provide all social support activities:
- Potable Water supply and water quality improvement: QNB participates in delivering clean drinking water to Houses of unprivileged families, in addition to the bank’s participation in providing potable drinking water and improving its quality in the destitute villages by renovating and extending water network projects.
- Improving the residential Environment: QNB participates in many projects which aim at improving the residential environment believing in the importance of providing decent, safe and healthy housing for the neediest families through the participation in roofing, renovating and improving the houses’ efficiency.
- Youth and Woman Economic Empowerment: Out of the bank’s belief in the importance of supporting women and youth and empowering them economically, the bank provides micro projects and income generating projects to guarantee a sustainable source of income for them and their families.
- Training for Employment: QNB provides several activities to reduce unemployment and create job opportunities through several trainings, which aim at qualifying youth for labor market and then implementing group projects after finishing their training period.
- Support People with special needs: QNB participates in supporting people with special needs to ensure their social inclusion, where the bank distributes prosthetic devices and artificial limbs to help them in performing their life duties. Moreover, the Bank implements small and micro-projects for them aiming to secure a permanent income for them and for their families.
- Development of Villages: QNB participates in the development of several marginalized villages in addition to its participation in Hayah Karima initiative, where it provides several social, medical, educational and economic services in those villages to provide decent life to unprivileged families.
Volunteering staff engagement: The bank organizes many volunteering initiatives, believing in the importance of volunteerism in creating a positive and stimulating work environment. These initiatives contribute to enhancing job satisfaction and building an organizational culture based on values and ethical principles, by encouraging employees to participate in volunteering activities and initiatives that benefit society in various areas of social responsibility.
