QNB signs a cooperation agreement with Zewail City of Science

QNB , a subsidiary of QNB Group, the largest financial institution in the Middle East and Africa, signed a cooperation protocol with Zewail City of Science, Technology and Innovation, the leading scientific research institution, aimed at sponsoring distinguished and talented students and offering them scholarships.

The protocol was signed by Mr. Mohamed Bedeir, QNB -Egypt Chief Executive Officer while it was signed on behalf of Zewail City by Dr. Mahmoud Abed Rabbo, Acting CEO and Chairman of the City’s Board of Directors, during a ceremony held on the University campus in the presence of a number of senior officials from both sides.

This agreement comes with the aim of supporting scientific excellence and contributing to the graduation of a generation of highly qualified students, thus contributing to the promotion of sustainable development of society in line with the main pillars of the bank goals in the field of social responsibility of the education sector in particular.

It will also enhance financial and banking awareness among Zewail City students. They will have the opportunity to learn about the latest banking services and products, especially those targeting youth, in addition to the facilities provided by the bank to reach all groups with its products and the innovative digital channels it has developed, in order to achieve Financial inclusion and creating a culture less dependent on cash, according to the directives of the Central Bank of Egypt.

On this occasion, Mr. Mohamed Bedeir, CEO of QNB -Egypt , expressed his happiness for cooperating with Zewail City, one of the main research and scientific edifices that encourage scientific excellence. He also stressed that the support of bank reflects its keenness to advance the education and scientific research field as it represents the cornerstone of sustainable development and strengthens the efforts of economic and social empowerment in Egypt.

For his part, Dr. Mahmoud Abd Rabbo, Acting CEO of Zewail City and Chairman of the Board of Directors, praised the bank's efforts to strengthen the scientific research system, stressing the importance of scholarships that the bank will provide to successful students in promoting the spirit of scientific competition and the values of excellence among them, which contributes to the development of Their skills to keep pace with emerging developments in the labor market, especially in light of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and digital transformation, leading to a knowledge-based economy.
